学术报告:Heavy Quarkonia in the Quark-Gluon Plasma

报告题目: Heavy Quarkonia in the Quark-Gluon Plasma 报 告 人: Ralf Rapp教授(Texas A&M) 报告时间: 8月23日,周五,下午16:00 报告地点: 物理系三楼报告厅 摘要: Heavy quarks (charm and bottom) provide a versatile tool to study the properties of the  Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP), e.g., deconfinement, color screening of the fundamental QCD  force and heavy-flavor transport. The large quark mass offers unique opportunities for  theoretical control over pertinent in-medium quantities.    We will introduce a Brueckner-type T-matrix approach to comprehensively investigate both  quarkonia and heavy-flavor transport in the medium. Constraints from vacuum spectroscopy,  perturbative QCD and thermal lattice-QCD are applied to improve the reliability of the  calculations. The heavy-quark T-matrices in the QGP lead to resonance formation close to  Tc which naturally leads to coalescence mechanisms for hadronization. We then implement  the quarkonium T-matrix results into an inelastic transport approach through the QGP,  hadronization and the hadronic phase, to compute observables in heavy-ion collisions.
Our results will be compared to a broad set of charmonium and bottomonium data at SPS,  RHIC and LHC.
